Practical Leadership Skills

Strong leadership is a combination of the right mindset and right action. At the Happy Children Foundation, our training programs build specific leadership skills such as:

  • Conflict resolution.
  • Teaching skills.
  • Volunteer care.
  • Building confidence.
  • Cultivating healthy self-esteem.
  • Inspiring others to take action.

Through our powerful Leadership Skills program, our students become strong and inspiring leaders.

Mentorship

Dependable mentorship is vital to any student’s success. Our mentorship program helps students prepare for middle school, high school, college and beyond.

Our trained mentors share their experience to help students learn these new skills. High school, in particular, can be a challenging time for students. Through role modelling, our mentorship prepares students for academic success.

Our mentoring also helps students overcome two unique challenges:

Entitlement: We live in an instant-gratification society. Through the Internet, many children learn they can have whatever they want. Social media plays a role in this mindset through unrealistic representations of influencers’ lives.

Lack of commitment: An instant gratification mindset can make students impatient. This can result in a lack of commitment to responsibilities and relationships.

Our mentorship program helps students to see a more practical view of life. They also foster the maturity they need to commit to and work for a solid future.

Opportunities to Lead

Education is an important part of strong and informed leadership. But education will only get you so far. To be a leader, you have to lead.

Our leadership programs let students practice their skills in real-life situations. By taking on small leadership tasks over time, students find their own style of leadership.

Once they’ve discovered their leadership style, they can lead in their own unique way.

Our Leadership Program includes important leadership tools, such as:

  • Visualization
  • Training
  • Mentorship
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Inspiration

We teach young leaders to inspire loyalty and see positive results within their community through solid leadership skills.

English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for Parents

Both students and their families bring a wealth of experience and diversity to our community. We believe all parents should be able to partner in the education of their children. We provide an ESOL program for parents and students new to America to make this possible.
