Hello, I’m Nelly Binga, the founder of The Happy Children Foundation. I was born and raised in the Central African Republic. My father was originally in the Army; he then became a government attaché and moved our family to the U.S. when I was 17. We settled in Silver Spring, MD where I graduated from Blair High School. I attended both Montgomery College and Strayer University where I earned an Associate of Computer Sciences (AAS) degree. I am currently employed as a personal banker at United Bank, and I am working on my bachelor’s degree in computer science. My faith in Jesus and the support of the village of people around me have enabled me to pursue my passion of helping people, especially children who are in need. I spend most of my free time with my four precious daughters, and other children in my community.
